Google Apps for Your Domain

Google offers a service called ‘Google Apps for Your Domain’, which basically means that you can associate your email address and domain name with a Google Mail (GMail) account- so all your email goes through the Google system and you get the following benefits:

much better spam filter (catches nearly all the nasties and very rarely gets it wrong)
email is available from any computer with an internet connection
you can check your emails on your mobile phone (if it’s a modern one)
you can add as many email addresses as you want (up to 100 addresses)
you get a nice calendar which you can use to organise what you’re up to

Remote Support

Now that we’re all green and cutting our carbon emissions (aren’t we?!) I’ve realised I can do a large percentage of jobs without even leaving my office. As long as you have a working internet connection I can connect to your PC and fix many common problems using Remote Desktop software- which basically means that with your permission I can see your computer and control your mouse pointer and keyboard remotely over the internet.

All you have to do is download and run a little file which then connects to my computer and lets me see what you can see on your computer screen- you can then see me moving the mouse pointer and making changes to the computer - if necessary we can talk over the phone while I’m doing it - I’ve done some tests already which you might have been part of or heard about already and it’s worked very well. After I’ve fixed the problem I disconnect and you will see that the little file has deleted itself and I can no longer see your PC until the next time you need me.

Obviously not all problems can be fixed like this; if your PC won’t start up, or you have no internet connection then I will have to be physically present, but for a lot of jobs I can just connect, fix the problem and disconnect with the minimum of disruption to you.

Rates

These are the prices I charge for various services:

Remote repairs over the internet: €20 per hour ( I will be happy to have a quick look for free but once I start fixing there’s a minimum charge of €10 ).
You bring your PC to me: €20 per hour ( I live in Mas Fumats near Roses now so that may be convenient in some situations, although obviously not for things like installing ADSL ).
I come to your house: €20 call-out charge plus €30 per hour ( Just to be completely clear, his means that if I am there for one hour it will be €50 then add €30 for each hour after that, charged in half-hour segments. I charge for travelling time if you live outside the Roses/Empuriabrava area at €20 per hour ).

Once I have fixed your problem you can pay me in cash, bank transfer or using the PayPal service which also allows me to take credit card payments.
